Refund &
Cancellation Policy
Clear terms. Transparent policies.
At Acadum, we believe in complete transparency. This page explains our refund and cancellation policy for all our courses and services.
Effective Date: 01 May 2026
Last Updated: 01 Oct 2026
Our Core Policy
Once a seat has been allotted in a batch,
course fees are non-refundable.
We reserve seats, plan batches, allocate instructors and prepare learning resources based on confirmed enrolments. Therefore, we do not offer refunds once a seat has been allotted, except for verified duplicate payments or where a refund is required by applicable law.
01
All course fees are non-refundable once a seat has been allotted to a student in a batch.
Once a seat is allotted, Acadum reserves the student’s place in the selected batch and may make arrangements for teaching resources, scheduling, faculty allocation and learning support.
Accordingly, refunds will not ordinarily be provided for course fees after a seat has been allotted, except for the verified duplicate-payment situation described in Section 2 or where a refund or other remedy is required under applicable law.
This policy applies to all Acadum courses and programmes, including:
- Acadum French Mastery™
- Acadum PR Accelerator™
- TEF Canada and TCF Canada preparation
- French courses from A1 to B2
- Private coaching and other training programmes
02
Acadum permits refunds for verified duplicate payments, subject to the conditions below.
A duplicate payment occurs when the same student or payer unintentionally completes more than one payment for the same course, invoice or transaction.
Once the duplicate transaction has been verified, Acadum will refund the eligible duplicate amount after deducting 15% towards payment gateway charges and processing fees.
The remaining 85% of the verified duplicate amount will be refunded to the original payment method, subject to payment verification, payment-provider procedures and applicable law.
Conditions for a duplicate-payment refund
- The duplicate payment must be genuine and verifiable.
- The student or payer must provide the relevant transaction details and proof of payment.
- The payments must relate to the same course, invoice or payment obligation.
- The refund will be processed only after Acadum verifies the duplicate transaction.
- Refunds will ordinarily be issued to the original payment method.
- The 15% deduction is intended to cover payment gateway charges and processing fees and will be applied subject to applicable law and payment-provider terms.
A payment made for a different course, a new enrolment, an additional service or a separate instalment will not automatically be treated as a duplicate payment.
03
Once a student’s seat has been allotted in a batch, the course fee is non-refundable.
This applies even if the student subsequently decides not to attend, discontinue or participate in the programme.
Examples include:
- The student changes their mind after enrolment.
- The student is unable to attend classes.
- The student has a change in personal, professional or financial circumstances.
- The student relocates or changes their study plans.
- The student decides to pursue another course or learning provider.
- The student does not use the learning materials, recordings or other programme resources.
These circumstances do not ordinarily qualify for a refund, subject to any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
04
Students who wish to cancel their enrolment should contact Acadum at support@acadum.com.
A cancellation request does not automatically entitle the student to a refund.
Where a seat has already been allotted, the non-refundable fee policy in Section 1 applies, except for verified duplicate payments or where applicable law requires otherwise.
Students are encouraged to review the course details, programme structure, schedule, fees and applicable terms before completing their enrolment.
05
Fees will not ordinarily be refunded for classes missed by a student.
This includes absence due to personal commitments, work schedules, travel, illness, connectivity issues, scheduling conflicts or other circumstances that prevent the student from attending.
Students should refer to the applicable course arrangements for information about class recordings, learning resources, attendance requirements and any available catch-up options.
The availability of recordings or alternative learning arrangements may vary by programme.
06
Requests to transfer to another batch or change a course schedule will be considered at Acadum’s discretion and will depend on availability, programme structure and operational feasibility.
A batch transfer is not guaranteed and should not be assumed to be available for every course.
Approval of a transfer does not create an entitlement to a refund. Any approved transfer will be subject to the terms communicated by Acadum.
07
Where a student enrols through an instalment or payment plan, the applicable payment schedule and obligations communicated at enrolment will continue to apply.
A student’s decision to discontinue the course does not automatically cancel any outstanding payment obligation.
Students should contact Acadum if they have questions about their payment plan. Any adjustment, waiver or change must be expressly approved by Acadum and will be subject to applicable law.
08
Private coaching sessions may involve individual scheduling and the allocation of instructor time.
Fees for private coaching are non-refundable once the applicable seat, session or coaching arrangement has been confirmed, except for verified duplicate payments or where a refund or other remedy is required by applicable law.
Any rescheduling or cancellation arrangement specific to a private coaching package will be communicated separately, where applicable.
09
If Acadum cancels a course or is unable to deliver a material part of a programme as agreed, Acadum will communicate the available options to affected students.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, these options may include rescheduling, an alternative arrangement, a credit or a refund for the affected service.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude any remedy that a student is legally entitled to receive.
10
Acadum provides French language instruction and preparation for examinations such as TEF Canada and TCF Canada.
Enrolment does not guarantee a particular examination score, language level, NCLC/CLB result, CRS score, invitation to apply, permanent residence approval or immigration outcome.
A student’s results may depend on several factors, including attendance, practice, prior language ability, examination performance and decisions made by relevant authorities.
Dissatisfaction with an examination result or immigration outcome does not, by itself, qualify for a course-fee refund, subject to applicable law.
Acadum provides language training and educational support; it does not guarantee immigration results.
11
To request a refund for a suspected duplicate payment, email support@acadum.com with the following information:
- Student’s full name
- Registered email address and/or phone number
- Course or programme name
- Payment date
- Transaction ID or payment reference for each payment
- Amount paid in each transaction
- Proof of payment, such as a receipt or transaction confirmation
Please use the subject line: Duplicate Payment Refund Request.
Acadum will review the information and may request additional details to verify the transaction.
If the duplicate payment is confirmed, the eligible refund will be calculated after the applicable 15% deduction and processed through the original payment method, subject to payment-provider procedures and applicable law.
12
The time required to complete a refund may depend on transaction verification, the payment gateway, the bank or financial institution, and the original payment method.
Acadum will initiate an approved refund after completing the required verification and processing steps.
Once initiated, the time taken for the refunded amount to appear in the payer’s account is determined partly by the relevant payment provider or financial institution. Acadum cannot guarantee the exact date on which the funds will be credited.
13
If you believe that a payment has been processed incorrectly, please contact Acadum at support@acadum.com so that we can review the transaction.
Students are encouraged to provide relevant payment details and allow reasonable time for the issue to be investigated.
Nothing in this section limits a student’s rights under applicable law or the rules of their bank, card issuer or payment provider.
14
This policy is intended to explain Acadum’s standard commercial refund and cancellation terms.
It does not limit or exclude any consumer right, statutory remedy or other legal protection that cannot lawfully be waived or restricted.
If any provision of this policy conflicts with applicable law, the relevant legal requirement will prevail to the extent of the conflict.
15
Acadum may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in its services, operational practices, payment arrangements or legal requirements.
The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
The version applicable to a particular enrolment will be interpreted in accordance with applicable law and the terms communicated to the student.
